October 21, 1967

(& 10/22) Some 400,000 people, including 15 busloads of participants from the Boston area, participate in what is subsequently called the largest antiwar demonstration ever held in the nation’s capital. Afterwards, many march on to the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The events are later described by Norman Mailer in his book The Armies of the Night.
